What was once a practical area in our homes, located to the left, has now evolved into the second most desired space in real estate: a luxurious bathroom. Beyond its visual appeal, such a bathroom can captivate your imagination, transforming your mind into a sanctuary of relaxation and tranquility, as illustrated above.

We all deserve a touch of luxury, and this is where you can maximize your budget.

Consider how you can rearrange elements within the space. For instance, swapping the vanity's position with that of the old shower can significantly change the atmosphere of the room.

# Transforming Ordinary Rooms into Luxurious Retreats

Window size and placement can elevate an ordinary room into a luxurious haven.

Don’t shy away from using glass; with smart glass technology, you can easily switch from clear to opaque.

  • Color* can have a significant influence on your design.

I’ve always discovered that even the smallest adjustments can create the most substantial impact in shaping a space. Consider the following:

  • Layout: Is there a better arrangement?

  • Practicality: Will it meet my client's brief?

Functionality: Will it serve its intended purpose?

Tile Choices: Elevate Your Space with Style

There are fantastic tile options available today at various price points. You don't have to opt for the most expensive tiles to achieve a touch of luxury.

  • Color: Select hues that can adapt to your space.

  • Texture: Decide between smooth or textured finishes.

  • Size: Consider dimensions—big, long, short, or small—what end result do you envision?

These six elements are my go-tos as a designer.

# Tapware Selection

With a plethora of options in color, style, and shape, how do you make the right choice?

  • I've found that once you pick the style of your vanity and bathtub, selecting the tapware becomes significantly easier.

  • The shape and size of your sink will determine the ideal height for the faucet.

For instance, a shallow sink requires a shorter tap to reduce splashing during use. This narrows down your style options and ensures consistency; keep all your tapware in the same color and finish. For example, if you opt for a matte black faucet for your vanity, your shower and bath fixtures should also be matte black.
